Beverly Ann Rose as a child always thrilled to make candy. When close friends would visit; she would make pies or honey candy for these friends.
Any extra butter was always a luxury in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Bev remembers gatherings at her Aunt Lucille’s home where there was lots of divinity and fudge. Bev & her mother, Cora Jean Allen, took a single toffee making class from Marvey Baker. Finally, English Toffee was a candy these two women could make perfect. Bev as a single mother for 20 years, raised three children by herself teaching piano lessons, substitute school teacher, piano player and making candy for neighbors during the holidays.
Bev has passed down the special technique to her only son, Steven. Steve is teaching his four children how to make chocolates too.
